Beckhoff Automation introduced eXtreme Fast Control (XFC) technology, a combination of the company’s PC-based and industrial Ethernet technologies, based on its control and communication architectures. According to the company, compared with current PC-based controllers, XFC offers performance improvements by a factor of 10 and enables cycle times of 100 microseconds (µs) without having to give up central intelligence and the associated high-performance algorithms. In addition to highly optimized cycle times, XFC also offers improved temporal accuracy and enhanced resolution. Measuring tasks or documentation of part quality can be simply integrated in the machine control without additional special devices. www.beckhoff.com

Products/Drive Motors
Baldor has extended its range of three-phase AC motor drives compatible with the Ethernet-compatible Powerlink protocol, adding three higher power versions rated for continuous outputs from 21.5 to 33.5A. The new drives extend the system building advantages of Powerlink to a much wider range of continuous and heavy-duty applications, says the company. Called MotiFlex e100, the three-phase AC drive range now offers eight choices of power output from 1.5 to 33.5A. For many of the applications targeted by this product release, the higher power versions will provide the means to bring large AC induction motors into the Ethernet Powerlink control network, such as those used on the main axes of web processes. www.baldormotion.com

Products/Measuring Equipment
Endress+Hauser developed a 2-wire loop-powered inline ultrasonic flow transmitter for liquids — the Prosonic 92DF. According to the company, it is suitable for both conductive and non-conductive liquids, offering configurations compliant with Canadian regulatory standards (CSA, C11, Div1, CRN). The Prosonic Flow “F” is a multi-beam sensor consisting of a stainless steel body, flanged process connections and two, three or four pairs of ultrasonic sensors located in arrays directly facing each other. The sensor allows a fully comprehensive scan of the flow while also offering greater installation flexibility as it can be used with short installation lengths. The Prosonic Flow 92F is available with 4-20AmA HART, Profibus PA and Foundation Fieldbus. www.ca.endress.com
