Sandvik opens new Canadian Productivity Centre |

Sandvik Coromant, the world’s largest producer of cemented carbide cutting tools and tooling systems for the metal working industry, celebrated the grand opening of its Canadian Productivity Centre.

Designed to maximize efficiency both internally and externally, the Productivity Centre provides daily support, training programs and product demonstrations at shop floor level for companies specializing in metal cutting production. The Productivity Centre is equipped with modern machine technology and state-of-the-art conference facilities to serve Sandvik Coromant customers across the country.

Offering a wide range of theory-based training courses, the Productivity Centre specializes in improving component quality, minimizing downtime, increasing throughput and improving engineering competence for its customers. Sessions are held on-site at the Centre – or at the client’s own facility, depending on the need. “The Productivity Centre is the ultimate training facility for our customers and provides the support needed to achieve maximum performance from all Sandvik Coromant products,” explained Kasper.
The Productivity Centre is located in Sandvik Canada’s newly built Mississauga head office, which incorporates Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards. LEED provides a recognized standard for the construction industry to assess the environmental sustainability of building designs. Adherence to LEED creates healthier work and living environments, contributes to higher productivity and improved employee health and comfort.
